We live in an unpredictable and whacky world that demand perfection in all forms. The quality and well being of your cabinets are no exception. After you invest that money on painting and finishing a beautiful cabinet it’s important to keep it clean and generally in one piece. We wanted to share a few handy tips on how to make easy peasy repairs to the boo boos in your cabinets. Here are a few options to hide those pesky scratches and dings in your cabinets.
Custom stain- simply apply an identical stain on the scratched surface and wipe off the excess with a clean cloth. Then you should apply a coat of finish, preferably a polyurethane type to hide any trace of the scratch.
Pen- use a furniture touch up pen to the scratch. Also wipe off any excess with a clean cloth and just let it dry for an hour.
A wax pencil- for any of the really deep nasty scratches apply a liberal amount of coloring to the affected area and wipe in circles to blend in he color with a clean cloth. It’s important not to add any extra finish to the wax, it won’t adhere to it very well and could create a mess.
Having a kid whack you cabinet with a bat or just simply dropping your furniture while moving it around the house is no fun. We hope that these few handy hints will help you in the future.
